The Lion in Love

I tell you a story: the lion in love (Esopo tales)

 

 A lion … of high rank, in a meadow met a shepherd girl, who immediately liked it, she was so beautiful, and in short time the lion  required her as bride. Un leone … di alto rango, in un prato incontrò una pastorella, che subito gli piacque, era così bella, e in breve quindi la richiese in sposa. Il padre forse avrebbe desiderato un genero un po’ meno pericoloso, concederla gli pareva un po’ azzardato, rifiutarla era un po troppo rischioso: un rifiuto poteva provocare una fuga d'amore, e il matrimonio sarebbe giunto poi, per riparare. Inoltre in ogni maniera la bella amava i tipi fieri, e ardeva di passione forte e sincera per quell’amato munito di criniera. . Il padre allora proprio non osando respingere apertamente il nostro amante lo pregò che gli artigli solamente e i denti si limasse, perché quando l’avesse baciata e accarezzata, tenera e delicata, non si trovasse mezza dilaniata … .. Il leone accettò senza esitare, accecatocom'era dall'amore. Ma senza artigli e denti anche una fiera è armata solo di suo onore. Così gli lanciò contro, tre cani, il buon pastore e a nulla valse la nobile criniera. Amore, amore, sempre, in tua presenza se ne va ogni cautela e ogni prudenza.
